I am really enjoying having adult children (or should I say, almost adult). My kids were both home for the holidays and introduced me this site: http://www.free rice.com.
I am loving it! For those of you who are not familiar with it, it’s like taking a standardized test; a question is presented with multiple choice answers. Categories range from geography, to grammar, vocabulary and different languages. When a question is answered correctly rice is donated through the UN world food program to help end hunger.
This is a win win situation. I am able to learn something and donate to a cause at the same time. What a great site to tap into children’s interest in computers. Sure beats “kill them dead” games.
