There are many sites that offer piano lessons on line. Some of which, I understand are not reputable. My skype lessons are simple to use and privately run -not with a company.
I have a masters degree in music education with a concentration in piano pedagogy. I have been teaching public school music and Suzuki piano for many years. I am a music clinician and lecture on parenting/ music topics.
No matter where you live, skype lessons are possible. They are not meant, by any means to replace a home teacher. The lessons are for enhancement purposes.
Best of luck!

I recently came across your blog and have been reading along. I thought I would leave my first comment. I don’t know what to say except that I have enjoyed reading. Nice blog. I will keep visiting this blog very often.

Hi
We are interested in skype piano lessons. My daughter is 8 and has been doing group piano since she was 5 using the a Suzuki based method, where they learn by ear and memorisation using games and singing solfège. She has always loved it although we had to go at the pace of the class which isn’t always ideal.
We also learn Suzuki guitar which she started 2 years ago and we love the playful approach were we all succeed at it.
Anyway we have left Christchurch and gone to a more remote area hence losing our teachers, as we can not live in our house due to the earthquakes. We are having trouble finding a teacher that doesn’t just want her to read uninspiring songs in a very stayed manner. She is saying the songs are boring. It is just killing her interest, so I have bought the Suzuki piano book and have asked the teacher to teach them and I have been teaching her myself. I try to keep it playful and get in the repetition but the teacher her is very traditional.
I’m interested in exploring Skype lessons with you. Could you contact me?
There is a Suzuki piano teacher over 1 hour away that we could do group lessons with and have a lesson every so often. And we are planning on going to the Summer workshop for guitar so could do piano too maybe.
We have been doing Skype with the guitar teacher and it has been working remarkably well. My older daughter sits at the PC just waiting for it and I help a lot with the 8 year old. The setup would be different with the piano since with the guitar we sit facing the screen holding the guitar.
